Coffee talk

Who wouldn't love aromatic coffee scent? I have recently purchased a coffee/espresso machine to our studio. I had so much fun learning latte art (not a very good learner!) and adding extra something like caramel, vanilla and cocoa into the coffee.

My favorite is Mocha Latte. What's your favorite? Would you like to share your coffee story?

Behind the scenes

Would you like to know how we make your necklaces? Today we are taking you to behind the scenes at our studio!

Sketch of the Etoile brillante (Shining star) necklace
Shape PMC into desired shape. In this case, we are going to flatten it.
Once the clay is dry, we filed and re-shaped it.
After being fired at 600 C for 20 minutes, We gave it a rough polish. You can see that it really is metal!
 Voila!

Wilfred in Toronto

I wish Wilfred would setup their shop when I was living in Toronto. I have always love their clothing line. It's so simple, but full of details. It would be so nice if one day they would carry my jewelry in their shop.

Weekend delight

Do you like to see behind the scenes of artists at work?  I know I do. While organizing my studio, I found one of my favorite books Open Studio by Lotta Jansdotter that I haven't finished reading since my move to Japan. I love how she covered three of my favorite cities around the world (Brooklyn, Stockholm and Tokyo).

While reading the book, my puppy Cocoa thought by acting cute I would share an apricot danish with her. My sister is currently visiting me in Japan. She brought along my puppy, Cocoa, with her. Cocoa is adjusting to her new life in Japan quite well :)

Layer me pretty

Fall is here. It's time to put on your favorite blazer. What I love the most about Fall is to put on my favorite denim shirt, accessorize with layered necklaces to make my whole outfit complete.

Introducing new necklaces to add to Cosette. One of them is initial diamond shaped square. It is personal, it's all about you. I layered it with a necklace inspired by Nordic patterns. These two are made of precious metal clay (PMC). It is handmade and crafted in our studio. Don't forget to check them out at our online store!

Something in the mail

Remember I blogged about a wedding reception I went to? Well, I received a gift just a few days ago. Here's what I got.

Heard about L'Occitane hand cream for a really long time. Finally gave it a try and I love it so far.

Rose scented solid parfum and a soap bar smell heavenly too. Can't wait to try them all!

Hacoa

Wedding reception in Japan is quite a unique one. When you attend someone's wedding, you received a gift book. There are tons of gifts you can choose from and they will be delivered at your door.

I attended a wedding reception for the first time and for one of the gifts I chose is this wooden pot coaster/holder from Hacoa.

I love the simple design and the wood texture just made everything perfect.

An old/new designs

So, I was thinking of adding some colors in Cosette lately. The designs has changed since I got introduced to metal clay, but there are some whimsy designs I'd love to add in Cosette's shop as well.

Like this initial charm drop. It's from the whimsical collection from Cocoa Chu Chu days (which I still love very much).

  • Just listed this cutie on Cosette. Feel free to check it out!

    Collaboration x Fern for Cosette

Fern Choonet is a Toronto based free lance illustrator. I have collaborated with her in the past for Cosette's business card design ( in case you haven't seen it, check it out HERE).

This time she illustrated Cosette collection by using water colors. How impressive!
